Matthew Wargo

Matthew didn't build AOG from the ground up. He did something harder. He took over a gym and poured everything he had into making it something the community could be proud of. A Purple Heart recipient, USMC veteran, and former law enforcement officer, he brings the same diligence and heart to the mat that he brought to service.

He teaches 28 classes a week—adults and kids alike—and shows up for every single one. But ask any parent and they'll tell you the same thing: what sets Matthew apart isn't his resume. It's the way he treats every kid who walks through that door.

Mike Terpstra

Adults

Professor Mike (Terp) is a black belt, first degree under Robert Drysdale. He has been training in jiu jitsu since 2010, but started his grappling career as a kid. Terp gained a background in wrestling long before he stepped on the jiu jitsu mats. As the head professor, Terp is proficient in teaching all skill levels and ages.

Daniel Bartyzel

Adults

Professor Daniel is a black belt under Robert Drysdale. He has been training martial arts since 2005. Professor Daniel has an extensive background of teaching jiu jitsu to all ages and skill levels.

Josiah Thiemann

Adults · Kids

Coach Josiah Thiemann started his martial arts training in 1994. He has trained in Karate, Muay Thai, Boxing, Krav Maga, Freestyle, Greco-Roman, and Collegiate Wrestling. He is now a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Professors Renzo Gracie, Finnie McMahon, Bob Drysdale, and Mike Terpstra. Coach Josiah has competed at the amateur and professional levels in Karate, wrestling, MMA, and BJJ. He currently serves our community as a SWAT Team Leader for the Larimer County Sheriff's Office. He instructs law enforcement and military personnel in combatives and arrest control techniques for the Krav Maga Worldwide Force Training Division.

All AOG black belts trace directly to Robert Drysdale — one of the most decorated grapplers in the history of the sport. That pedigree is present in every adult class on the schedule.
